KidRec

FitRec invites all families with kids from 3 months to 13 years old to come explore 9,000 sq. ft. of new dedicated youth and family program space.

KidRec opened in July 2016 to meet the needs of our FitRec families. This new addition offers unlimited KidRec visits, open times for families to enjoy together, and additional classes and programs designed to encourage your children ages 3 months to 13 years to stay active and have fun!

Access to KidRec is available to FitRec members as a monthly KidRec Add-on fee. Non-members may access KidRec at a drop-in rate of $5/visit.

KidCare is included with the KidRec Add-On or at the drop-in rate of $5/visit/child. Stays are limited to two hours per visit. Parent/guardian must stay in the facility the entire time.

  • Monday-Friday:  8:30 a.m.-Noon and 5-8 p.m.
  • Saturday:  8:30 a.m.-1 p.m.
  • Sunday:  8:30 a.m.-Noon

KidRec Staff

Our KidRec staff are very enthusiastic about building relationships with families in our facility and focus on keeping children engaged in a variety of activities. All staff are CPR and First Aid certified and have experience working with youth. We strive to provide a safe, fun, and positive environment for all participants through age-appropriate activities.

KidRec Employment

FitRec is currently hiring Moraine Valley students for KidRec childcare attendants. We look for students who have experience working with youth and who are enthusiastic about keeping children active and engaged in a variety of activities.

KidRec Add-On will be billed at the beginning of each month. If you wish to cancel your KidRec Add-On, please submit a cancellation form at least 15 days before the end of the month.

Family = Main member and 5 additional members who are related and living in the same household.

KidRec Policies

  • KidRec is designed for children ages 3 months to 13 years of age.
  • To gain access to KidRec, a child must be enrolled with the recurring add-on fee, pay the drop-in daily fee, be enrolled in a KidRec Program, attend a special event, or specific rental.
  • Parents/guardians check in with staff and inform them of anticipated location in the facility prior to dropping off child(ren).
  • No other person may pick up the child except for those listed as an approved guardian for the child(ren). When picking up the child(ren), the parent/guardian/family member must sign out with staff.
  • A parent/guardian/family member on the child’s approved guardian list must remain in the facility at all times and be indicated as a point of contact should the staff need to contact someone regarding child.
  • Food is not permitted. Only water in shatterproof containers labeled with the child’s name are allowed, unless dictated by program.
  • Closed toed shoes must be worn at all times in KidRec. Socks are required to play on the Playsmart indoor playground in Tots Landing.
  • Staff may contact the parent/guardian/family member at any time regarding the status of his or her child(ren). For example, the parent may be contacted if the child(ren) is inconsolable, if the child(ren) is displaying inappropriate behavior or if the child seems to be ill.
  • Children whose behavior is unruly, negatively affects other children, or threatens the safety of the group may be asked to leave. Parents/guardians/family member will be contacted to remove their child. If unacceptable behavior is chronic, the child may lose eligibility to participate in KidRec.
  • Staff is not responsible for lost, stolen or damaged items.
  • Staff is not responsible for administering medication.
  • The parent/guardian/family member will always be contacted in an emergency situation.
  • If an evacuation of the facility were necessary, parents report directly to KidRec to collect child(ren) and evacuate per the staff direction.
  • Children must be picked up by closing time; otherwise the parent/guardian/family member will be paged.
  • Reservations are strongly encouraged and may be made by calling (708) 608-4000.

KidCare Drop-Off Policies

  • KidCare Drop-off is available for children ages 3 months to 13 years of age. Multiple spaces can accommodate the different age level comfortably throughout the drop-off hours.
  • Children may be in KidRec for a maximum of 2 hours at a time. However, they may be enrolled multiple times a day. If using the space multiple times a day, the child must be checked out for 30 minutes before checking in again.
  • KidRec staff do not change diapers, please drop off child with clean diaper. Parents will be contacted to change their children if needed.
  • No food, except milk, formula or breast milk bottles, is allowed as a courtesy to other children that may have allergies. KidRec staff are not responsible for feeding children.
  • Socks are required for child to utilize the Playscape indoor playground.
  • For the well-being of all children and staff, sick children will not be permitted.

X-Rooms Policies

  • Do not use equipment without a staff member present, except during designated times for un-supervised family time.
  • X-Rooms are for children 6 and above. Age limits are set due to difficulty level or size of equipment. There may be times indicated or specialty programs when younger children may be allowed in X-Rooms.
  • Shoes are required on the bouldering wall at all times.
  • Feet must remain below the red line on the bouldering wall for safety reasons.
