Soccer Skills

KidRec Intro to Soccer program is created to support youth soccer development for children ages 6-11 years old. Children will learn and practice soccer skills through drills like ball control, dribbling techniques, passing, and scoring goals. Classes will be held on Court 1 in the FitRec gymnasium.

Fall Session 1 Dates:  Mondays & Wednesdays from August 28 through October 18 (No class on September 4)

Times:  5:15 pm – 6:00 pm

Cost:  $144 for members or $192 for non-members for the entire session

Minimums/Maximums:  min. 4/max. 15

Youth Fitness

The Youth Fitness Program educates children who are ready to learn about fitness and excited to be introduced to adult fitness equipment. This is an opportunity for children to learn how to use cardio machines and weight equipment safely and properly before navigating the fitness floor on their own. In addition, this program focuses on teaching children about healthy lifestyle choices that they can implement into their daily routine.

Fall Session 1 Dates:  Tuesdays and Thursdays from August 29 through October 19 (8 weeks)

Times:  5:15 pm – 6:00 pm

Cost:  $144 for members or $192 for non-members for the entire session

Minimums/Maximums:  min. 4/max. 15

KidRec Running Club

KidRec Running Club will meet once a week to prepare club participants for the 10th Annual Halloween 5K Run/Walk or Kid’s Dash on Saturday, Oct. 28. This progressive training program will incorporate speed and endurance activities and other running drills. Cost includes registration fee for Halloween 5K Run/Walk.

Ages: 8-12 years

Fall Session 1 Dates/Times:  Fridays 5:15-6:00 p.m. from Sept. 1-Oct. 27 (9 weeks) | Outdoors (Rain site: FitRec’s indoor track)

Cost:  Member $108, Non-member $144

Minimums/Maximums:  min. 4, max. 15

Intro to Dance (Ballet & Jazz)

Intro to Dance classes will teach students the basics of ballet and jazz. We will go over technique and skills, learning kicks, leaps, jumps, and turns. Students will also learn a dance in both styles to perform at a winter performance to be held in December in collaboration with Burbank Dance Revolution. Information regarding winter performance TBD. Ballet shoes are required along with athletic clothing during practices.  Sessions will take place in Kid Central.

Fall 1 Session Dates:  Saturdays from September 2 through December 16 (no classes on October 28 and November 25)

Times:

  • 9:00 am-9:45 am for 4-6 year-olds
  • 10:00am-10:45am for 7-11 year-olds

Cost:  $144 for members or $192 for non-members
* Must have a minimum of 4 registered participants to run, maximum of 15
** Please note minimal additional cost for winter performance costume

THE DO GOOD MOVEMENT AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM

Join The Do Good Movement Monday-Friday at KidRec from 3:30pm-5:30pm to support your students social emotional learning and wellness needs. This mindfulness program is a great extender to a parent’s work day helping support the whole family wellness all within FitRec. The after-school program includes:

  • Access to Sports Zone, Kid Central and X-Rooms within the KidRec Facility
  • Homework support from The Do Good Movement Staff
  • Mindful movement and activities focused on social emotional learning to enhance self-regulation and wellness.
  • Yoga classes
  • Crafts
  • Games
  • Music
  • Meditation
Fall Session Registration: Weekly registration where you must sign up by the Friday before the coming week of participation.Times:  3:30 pm -5:30 pmMonday/Wednesday/Friday Cost:  $60 for members or $75 for non-members per week
Tuesday/Thursday Cost: $40 for members or $50 for non-members per week
Monday-Friday Cost: $100 for members or $125 for non-members per week
