‘Women of the World’ to hit the stage at Moraine Valley

October 26, 2026

An explosive mixture of unique yet complementary voices, “Women of the World” will perform on Saturday, Nov. 21, 7:30 p.m., at the Moraine Valley Community College Fine and Performing Arts Center (FPAC), 9000 W. College Parkway in Palos Hills.

This award-winning, international a cappella group performs original and traditional folk music with a contemporary twist in up to 37 languages. Representing different parts of the world – Japan, Turkey, India and the U.S. – “Women of the World” melds the artists’ differences and explores rhythms, sounds and a global musical vocabulary to entertain audiences.

Since 2008, “Women of the World” have spread a message of unity and peace while sharing the music of Africa, Asia, Europe and South America through chants, storytelling, dance, percussion and improvisation.

Not only has the ensemble been mentored by Grammy Award-winning artist Bobby McFerrin, but they also have collaborated with several world musicians and conductors. They won the 2017 International Championship of A Cappella Open by Varsity Vocals, were national champions of the 2014 Harmony Sweepstakes and were nominated for the 2014 Independent Music Awards and 2013 Boston Music Awards.

The Moraine Chorale will join “Women of the World” in their final piece of the concert. Learn more about “Women of the World” at womenoftheworldmusic.com/home.
