Complete these steps to get registered for classes. Requirements vary based on your student type. Select your student type below for detailed, step-by-step enrollment instructions.

Get help paying for college by completing youe Federal Applicationf for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and connecting Moraine Valley’s school code (School Code: 007692).

Have questions about paying for college? Visit the Financial Aid to learn about available aid programs, application requirements and important deadlines. Financial Aid staff are available remotely Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at (708) 974-5726 or financialaid@morainevalley.edu.

Take the placement test or submit ACT/SAT test results to Records Office to complete the next step in enrollment.

Check the test exempt list before scheduling your placement test.

Placement testing is offered year-round Monday through Saturday by appointment. Call (708) 974-5309 to schedule.

Appointments are available Monday –  Thursday 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Friday 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., and Saturday 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
Placement tests typically require 2.5 hours to complete.

You can submit your official  ACT/SAT, (sealed) high school transcript or High School Equivalency Certificate electronically. Please send them to transcripts@morainevalley.edu

If you have taken college courses at another institution and would like to transfer to Moraine Valley, you must additionally have your official transcripts from college(s) previously attended and transcript evaluation request form sent to transcripts@morainevalley.edu.

Complete New Student Orientation. This mandatory Orientation includes an online module (Part I) and on-campus or phone call session (Part II). Part I presents key policies and student resources, and Part II allows you to select and register for your classes.

Register for courses and make payment using MVConnect or by calling (708) 974-2110.

Within an hour of submitting your completed application, you can contact the Help Desk at (708) 608-4357 to get your Moraine Valley username and password.

These credentials will give you access to your student email and the student portal, called MVConnect. You also will receive a welcome letter in the mail in a few days that includes your MVConnect username and password.

Once you have your username and password, follow these steps to find classes:

  • Log into MVConnect
  • Select “Registration” from the Self-Service Menu
  • Search and/or Register for Sections based on the current academic term and at least one other criterion, like subject, location, instructor, and more. To make sure you are getting responses for the semester you want, choose from the Term drop-down menu
  • Select and submit the courses you want to register for and follow the instructions provided for completing your registration and making payments on your account

If you need help planning your schedule and degree or certificate path, use the Student Planning tool, or visit Academic Advising, located in Building S, Room S201.

After you have registered for your classes, it is time to pay your tuition. There are several ways to do this, including paying in-person with cash, credit card, check or money order by going to the Cashier’s Office in Building S, Room S105, on the main campus in Palos Hills.

If you already have a Moraine Valley username and password, you can access MVConnect, the college’s student portal. The portal allows students to self-serve and register for classes 24/7. Registering for classes at Moraine Valley is easy if you follow these steps:

A returning student is any individual who has not been enrolled at Moraine Valley for at least two years (six semesters). Returning students must be readmitted to the college. If it has been more than six semesters since you last attended Moraine Valley, contact the Registration Office (Room S103) at (708) 974-2110 to update your account.

Submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to apply for federal, state, and institutional aid.  Moraine Valley School Code: 007692

Provide an official high school transcript or High School Equivalency Certificate to the Records Office (Room S111) if not already on file.
Submit official transcripts from all colleges previously attended, along with a transcript evaluation request form, to the Records Office.

Students at Large are students who take credit courses without seeking a degree or certificate from Moraine Valley. This option is ideal for those looking to gain new skills, earn transfer credit or explore a subject of interest.

First time GI Bill benefit users will need to complete a mandatory Veterans Orientation.
Online orientation takes approximately 90 minutes to complete. There will be a final quiz to complete after the last section. You can schedule your orientation by emailing Veterans@morainevalley.edu.

Continuing students who have attended a Veterans Orientation session must meet with an academic advisor each semester prior to registering. The academic advisors will assist with course selections prior to registration.
