Honored is how Lynn Threewitt, Departmental Assistant, Learning Enrichment and College Readiness, describes her feelings when she learned she was named the recipient of the Part-time Employee Service Award.
“It was so nice to be nominated and such an honor to be recognized with this award and on a regular basis within my department,” Threewitt said. “This department is very quick to show appreciation at meetings and talk about what you’ve done and say thank you.”
Student interaction is one of the favorite parts of her job. “Our process is a little different. Students have to call or come in to sign up for these programs, so we have students coming in all the time. I absolutely enjoy the student interaction,” Threewitt said.
Her nominators said Threewitt works collaboratively across the college to provide student support, noting, “Our department serves students from more than 40 countries and every day Lynn interacts with students whose first language is not English. She is patient, compassionate and always helpful.”
Threewitt has become so knowledgeable using the online data reporting system, she trains others to use it and has created a step-by-step guide for the department to be further successful in its data reporting requirements. “Lynn is a prime example of a team player, and we are fortunate to have her in our department and as an employee at the college. She works closely with our instructors, assists them on a daily basis and works with the registration office to ensure all of our registration for adult education students is completed,” her nominators said.
Threewitt is known in her department for being efficient and organized, as one who always welcomes new projects, a dedicated staff member and someone who is highly dependable. “It is a pleasure working with Lynn. She has a great sense of humor and brings positive energy to our department.”
