About KidRec Explorers Camp
Give your child a summer of learning and fun! KidRec Explorers Camp blends hands-on academic enrichment with the classic KidRec summer camp experience. Campers will explore engaging STEM projects, creative arts, and interactive workshops on the Moraine Valley Community College campus, led by qualified MVCC instructors for half of each day. The second half of the day is spent at FitRec, where campers move, play, create, and connect through fitness activities, games, crafts, and good old-fashioned summer camp fun.
This unique collaboration between Moraine Valley Explorers and FitRec truly brings the best of both worlds together. A structured balance of education and movement keeps campers intellectually stimulated and physically active all summer long—while still creating the memories that make summer camp special. Camp Structure & Registration Information
Registration for KidRec Explorers camp is done at Membership Services in the FitRec front lobby or through our online portal on the FitRec website. Camp drop-off and pick-up occurs at FitRec. Before care, after care and lunch also take place at FitRec. KidRec Explorers camp takes place Monday-Thursday from June 8-August 6 (no camp the week of June 29-July 2). Registration available for full week (Mon.-Thurs.) only.

KidRec Explorers Camp Hours
Monday through Thursday: 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Morning Rotation: 9 am until Noon, Lunch & Transition: Noon until 1 pm,
Afternoon Rotation: 1 pm until 4 pm
Before Care: 8-9 a.m. || After Care: 4-5 p.m. * Before and after care are provided at no additional cost.
Camp Registration Rates
Weekly Rate (Mon. thru Thurs., no Fridays): Member – $200, Non-member – $265
^To qualify for the member pricing, children 5-12 must be a part of an ACTIVE FitRec monthly membership (not 1-month or GymPass). This could be a family or an individual dependent membership. Member must have/keep active membership for 6 months to be eligible for member rate for camp or subject to pay difference of non-member pricing and $40 early cancellation fee.
Early Bird Discount: 10% off camp registration fees from March 16-31.

All themes and age groups below are set and changes only permitted due to instructor/location changes at the program director’s discretion.
Campers must meet the age requirement for the selected weekly theme below in order to participate: Mini: 5-7 years old; Mighty: 8-10 years old; Mega: 11-13 years old

FRIDAY CAMP INFORMATION
Register for an additional camp day each Friday where participants can enjoy a morning of summer camp fun and an afternoon of open swim. Friday camp is not included in KidRec Explorers Camp and must be registered separately. Friday camp takes place entirely at FitRec. Before and after care are included. Friday swim times are as followed:
- Minis: 1:15 – 2:00 p.m.
- Mighty: 2:05 – 2:50 p.m.

Mega: 2:55 – 3:40 p.m.

Camp Cancellation/Refund/Credit Policies
A full refund will be given for any program cancelled by FitRec. A full refund or credit will be given if a patron submits a refund/credit request form to Membership Services prior to May 1, 2026. A full credit will be given if a patron submits a credit request form by the Wednesday prior to the camp week. A partial credit may be given for the following two reasons: (1) medical issues along with a written note from a licensed practitioner or (2) program not appropriate for maturity/ability of student along with verification from the program coordinator. Partial credits are based on the value of classes not attended, require participant to submit a credit request form, which must be submitted within one week of the last attended class. Late/prorated registrations are not eligible for refunds/credits. Credits will expire within one year of issue.
