American Red Cross: Lifeguard Class (4-Day Option) - BL r.24
Class Description: The Lifeguarding course provides participants the knowledge and skills to prevent recognize and respond to aquatic emergencies.
This class is taught in a blended learning format and the assigned online portion(s) must be completed prior to each instructor-led session.
Participants who successfully complete this course receive an American Red Cross certificate for Lifeguarding (including deep water) with CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers and First Aid valid for 2 years.
Prerequisites:
1. Minimum age: 15 years
2. Complete a swim- tread-swim sequence: Jump into the water submerge resurface swim 150 yards (using the front crawl breaststroke or a combination of both) maintain position at the surface of the water for 2 minutes by treading water using only the legs then swim 50 yards using the front crawl breaststroke or a combination of both.
3. Complete a timed event within 1 minute 40 seconds by starting in the water swimming 20 yards surface dive (feet-first or head-first) to a depth of 7 to 12 feet to retrieve a 10-pound object return to the surface and swim 20 yards on the back to return to the starting point holding the object at the surface with both hands exit the water without using a ladder or steps.
4. All class participants must be able to comfortably pass the pre-test in order to continue participating in the class. Any questions regarding the details of the pre-test, please contact the instructor. Please register early to allow time for completing the online coursework prior to the first day of the class.
American Red Cross: Lifeguard Instructor Class (3-Day Option) - BL r.24
Class Description:
The purpose of the American Red Cross r. 24 Lifeguarding Instructor course is to train instructor candidates to teach the basic-level courses in the American Red Cross Lifeguarding program.
Course Prerequisites
- Be at least 17 years old on or before the final scheduled session of the Lifeguarding Instructor course.
- Possess a current basic-level certification in American Red Cross Lifeguarding (Including Deep Water) with CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers and First Aid.
- Successfully complete the online session of the Lifeguarding Instructor course prior to the precourse session.
- Successfully complete the prerequisite skill assessment scenario to continue in the course.
Lifeguarding Instructor Recertification-BL r.24
This blended learning Instructor recertification course is the required course for all Lifeguarding Instructors to re-certify. During this course Lifeguarding Instructors and Instructor Trainers will participate in an in-water practice and polish
Prerequisites:

- Successfully complete the prerequisite skill assessment scenario to continue in the course.
