Get a head start by taking summer classes at Moraine Valley Community College. We offer classes for those interested in transferring to four-year colleges or universities by earning associate degrees in Arts, Fine Arts, General Studies, or Science.

You can choose from several career programs offered at the college including Allied Health and Nursing, Business and Computer Sciences, Industrial Technology, and Public Service. The college offers noncredit programs, courses and workshops as well.

Reasons to Take a Summer Class

  • 1. Catch Up or Jump-Start Your Semester

Taking summer classes is the easiest way to get ahead on your degree or stay on track. You can get prerequisites out of the way or lighten your fall load.

  • 2. Flexible Schedule

You can still have a fun summer and earn college credits. Take classes at our Palos Hills campus, at the Education Center at Blue Island or Southwest Education Center in Tinley Park, online, or as an online hybrid with limited classes meetings.

  • 3. Fewer Distractions

With a reduced course load during summer, you can focus more on the class or classes you’re enrolled in. This can be especially useful in a more challenging course.

  • 4. Shorter Semesters

Take classes that run three, four and eight weeks long. You can stay caught up in course work, and still enjoy the beautiful weather.
