Getting involved at Moraine Valley is paying off for Arturo Mazari in a number of ways — most recently earning a $1,250 scholarship through the Coca-Cola Foundation and administered through Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society.

Arturo is among 50 students from across the country named a 2020 Coca-Cola Academic Team Silver Scholar, a selection based on academic achievement, leadership, and engagement in college and service in the community. He serves as vice president of Service in Moraine Valley’s PTK chapter, is enrolled in honors classes, participates in TRiO programs and works in Student Life helping to coordinate student events.

“I was ecstatic to learn I am going to receive this scholarship,” Arturo said. “It is going to be a big help to me and my family. To be able to continue my education means the world to me. It really was the best choice for me to attend Moraine Valley.”
