It’s been a while since Shervon Verlaux was in school but now that she’s back she’s in the driver’s seat, and there’s no slowing her down.

Hadiza Stanley’s heart and the culture in her homeland influenced her choice to become a nurse, while convenience and affordability played the biggest roles in her choice to attend Moraine Valley.

Thanks to a supportive network, Andrea Sagle was able to return to school after a sudden tragedy left her children without a father.

Darryl Mitchell will never forget the lasting impression two Moraine Valley teachers have made on him. “Math and English were two of my worst subjects and the reasons I hated school,” Darryl said. “Now these two classes are the reasons I look forward to coming to school.”

David Hull has a long background serving in the military–both in the navy and in the army, where he served as a combat medic and decided to pursue nursing as his next career.

I like numbers and loved accounting in high school,” says Andrea Godinez. “So when I had to make a career change, I asked myself ‘What am I good at?’”
