Sonography, or Ultrasound Technology, helps students learn to operate special medical equipment that directs sound waves into the human body. Moraine Valley does not offer a Sonography or Ultrasound Technician program, but the career shares similarities with Radiologic Technology, which we do offer.
Though the duties are similar to the Ultrasound Technician in terms of adjusting and using equipment, the radiologic technician taking x-rays does not normally have to spend as much time with patients.
