Intermediate and advanced dancers age 16 and older are invited to attend a free master dance class with a dancer from Thodos Dance Chicago at Moraine Valley on Feb. 6, from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.
The master class is held at the Health, Fitness & Recreation Center, Studio C.
Brooke Mainland, a Thodos dancer, will teach modern/contemporary technique. Participants will learn phrases from “Memoirs,” choreographed by Garfield Lemonius. “Memoirs” has been in the dance company’s repertoire for two years and is one of the numbers presented during their performance at Moraine Valley on Feb. 6 at 7:30 p.m.
Mainland graduated from the University of Arizona in 2015 after earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance. Her training includes ballet, modern and jazz. She spent the summer abroad assisting with the Tanz Danza Dance Festival in Bolzano, Italy. Mainland is beginning her professional career with Thodos Dance Chicago.
