“Something I Want to Tell You” is the upcoming art display at the Robert F. DeCaprio Art Gallery in the Moraine Valley Community College Fine and Performing Arts Center (FPAC), 9000 W. College Parkway in Palos Hills. The debut show in the Chicagoland area runs from Oct. 29 to Dec. 14, featuring a reception with the artist – Pamela Dodds – on Thursday, Oct. 30, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Dodds brings her life-size, full color, oil on canvas paintings to the college, depicting nuanced moments in everyday life. In each, figures created from Dodds’ imagination are caught in pivotal moments of interaction with a friend, family member or stranger. Her characters are a confluence of personal and observed relationships and experiences, drawing on undercurrents of emotions that may not be expressed but are deeply felt.

Based in Toronto, Dodds’ work includes paintings, drawings and printmaking that is regularly exhibited across Canada, the U.S. and Europe. With experience as an educator and master printmaker, she also has been an invited speaker in university classrooms. Her work is on collection at the Cleveland Museum of Art in Ohio, Boston Public Library in Massachusetts, Purdue University in Illinois and Capital One Bank in Ontario.

Dodds has had residencies and fellowships in Canada and abroad, and her recent work has earned international awards. For more information on Dodds and her work, visit pameladodds.net/.

The gallery is free and open Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. For more information or to purchase tickets to FPAC shows, visit morainevalley.edu/fpac/tickets or call (708) 974-5500.
