Female country group, Farewell Angelina, brings powerhouse vocalists and accomplished multi-instrumentalists to the Fine and Performing Arts Center at Moraine Valley Community College, 9000 W. College Parkway. The show will be Saturday, Oct. 12, at 7:30 p.m.
Tickets for the performance, to be held in the Dorothy Menker Theater, are $30, $25 for seniors and free for children and students with ID. Those who qualify for free admission must acquire a ticket to reserve a seat.
The group, named after the Bob Dylan song of the same name, includes four longtime friends who met in Nashville while pursuing solo careers. They have performed the national anthem for Thursday Night Football, and sang at The Unbridled Eve Gala for the Kentucky Derby and festivals in Switzerland, Norway, Spain and France.
The women have been named among Rolling Stone’s “New Artists You Need to Know,” and have opened shows for Kenny Chesney, Old Dominion, Frankie Ballard, Jake Owen, Billy Currington, Maroon 5, Trace Adkins and others.
Country Music Television (CMT) hosted a worldwide premiere of the band’s music video for the single, “Ghosts,” which was No. 1 on the CMT 12Pack Countdown for five weeks and in the top three for eight weeks. Billboard premiered the music video for “More Problems,” calling the harmonies “stunning” and the song “a perfect respite to the end of summer.”
