Dance enthusiasts will have an opportunity to enjoy the world renowned rhythm and movement of the acclaimed Paul Taylor Dance Company Saturday, May 13 at Moraine Valley Community College, 9000 W. College Pkwy., Palos Hills.

The performance will begin at 7:30 p.m. in the Dorothy Menker Theater inside the college’s Fine and Performing Arts Center. Tickets are $30; $25 for students and senior citizens.

Taylor is considered to be among the greatest living pioneers of American modern dance, choreographing more than 144 dances since creating his dance company in 1954. He continues to offer compelling observations on life’s complexities and society’s thorniest issues through his dance style that often relies on blending everyday natural gestures with more traditional techniques.  His dance company, which has performed in more than 500 cities in 62 countries, has earned an array of honors and awards including a MacArthur Foundation “Genius” Award and a National Medal of Arts from former President Bill Clinton.

This presentation is supported by the Arts Midwest Touring Fund, a program of Arts Midwest that is funded by the National Endowment for the Arts, with additional contributions from the Illinois Arts Council Agency and the Crane Group.

Tickets can be purchased at morainevalley.edu/fpac, by calling (708) 974-5500, or at the Box Office located on the south end of the Fine and Performing Arts Center.
