Moraine Valley Community College will host open houses in July and August at its two neighborhood locations, the Education Center at Blue Island and the Southwest Education Center in Tinley Park.

The open houses will showcase the centers’ educational offerings, including a wide variety of credit classes toward a degree or certificate and noncredit classes for personal development, as well as free high school equivalency and English as a Second Language classes. Fall classes will begin in August, September and October.

Open house attendees will learn about the support services available at the centers, including admissions, registration, financial aid and course selection. In addition, attendees can tour the facilities. Staff will explain how people can get started taking classes near their homes or workplaces at the convenient centers.

“We are excited to show people how convenient it is to take classes at one of our extension sites,” said Lindsey Zerbian, coordinator of the Southwest Education Center. “People can take classes in their own neighborhood. We have a wide variety of classes and provide support students need to be successful at both of our centers.”
