Several Academic Music concerts are scheduled for November at the Moraine Valley Community College Fine and Performing Arts Center (FPAC). These performances will take place in the Dorothy Menker Theater on the main campus, 9000 W. College Parkway in Palos Hills.

In its 20th season, the Moraine Valley Concert Band presents “Harvest Festival Music” on Thursday, Nov. 21, 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for veterans and under 18 while Moraine Valley students are free.

The Moraine Valley Jazz Ensemble presents “88th Avenue Swing: Autumn in Palos Hills” on Friday, Nov. 22, 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for veterans and under 18 while Moraine Valley students are free.

The Moraine Valley Orchestra will perform “Thankful for Song and Dance” on Sunday, Nov. 24, 3 p.m. This performance will celebrate the birthdays of composer Scott Joplin, German opera singer Lillie Lehmann and the memorial anniversary of Italian composer Puccini. This concert is free.

The Illinois Skyway Collegiate Conference Jazz Festival is taking place within the FPAC on Saturday, Nov. 16, starting at 9 a.m. The morning will feature jazz big bands from College of Lake County, Elgin Community College, McHenry County College, Morton College, Oakton College, Prairie State College, Waubonsee Community College and Moraine Valley. Admission is free.
