Tickets are on sale now for Jim Peterik’s “World Stage,” Saturday, Oct. 6, 7:30 p.m., at Moraine Valley Community College. The show is a special performance celebrating the 25th anniversary of the Fine and Performing Art Center (FPAC), and two ticket options are available: show only, $75; and dinner and a show, $135.
Peterik, founder of the Ides of March, lead singer of “Vehicle,” and co-writer of “Eye of the Tiger,” shares the stage with Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Danny Seraphine, legendary drummer and founding member of Chicago; renowned singer Bill Champlin, who wrote and sang for Chicago and others; California Transit Authority guitarist and singer Mark Bonilla; Mark Farner, principal songwriter and singer in Grand Funk Railroad; Mike Reno, lead singer of Loverboy; and singer-songwriter Colin Peterik.
“When I got the call saying it was the 25th anniversary, I said I’m there. It’s a huge honor for us to honor Moraine Valley, and it’s going to be one of the best shows yet,” Peterik said. “Moraine Valley’s acoustics are among the best. This auditorium was built for sound, and there’s not a bad seat in the house. I’m totally looking forward to this.”
The dinner, sponsored by the Moraine Valley Foundation, will begin at 6 p.m., in Building M and includes a meal, soft drinks, wine, beer and ticket to the show. Proceeds support future Fine and Performing Arts Center performances.
“World Stage is always an amazing performance,” said Tommy Hensel, FPAC managing director. “It’s pretty much guaranteed people will recognize every song they hear, and with Jim Peterik’s connections, you never know who might show up on stage as a surprise, last-minute artist. The performers love working together, so it’s like a long jam session with friends having a good time together.”
