Retail employees looking for a boost in both their career and pay can obtain training through the Retail Management Certificate program at Moraine Valley Community College. Register now for fall classes that can help you move up the ladder to becoming part of a management team.
This industry-recognized certificate, offered in conjunction with the Western Association of Food Chains (WAFC) and a Brighter Futures grant through the League for Innovation in the Community College, offers students the opportunity to hone their talents and gain new skills needed for advancement in the retail industry.
The eight courses required to earn the certificate can be used toward an Associate of Applied Science degree in marketing or management and can be completed in as little as one year. Courses include Microsoft Office, Principles of Marketing, Principles of Management, Speech Fundamentals, Introduction to Human Resources, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Principles of Retailing, and Financial Accounting. Tuition assistance may be available through the League of Innovation Brighter Futures 3.0 grant for those currently employed in a retail environment.
The certificate allows individuals to advance their career in retail or open doors to new workplace opportunities such as in clothing shops, supermarkets, department stores, specialty stores, and more.
