Moraine Valley Community College is hosting three events as part of the Inauguration for Dr. Pamela J. Haney, the college’s new president. All events are free and open to the public.
Community members are encouraged to attend a Presidential Meet and Greet that will take place on Tuesday, Oct. 24, 5 to 7 p.m., in Building M on the main campus, 9000 W. College Parkway in Palos Hills. Guests can socialize with the president and one another. Appetizers will be served.
Haney, who began her presidency on July 1, 2023, will formally be inducted as president during the Investiture Ceremony on Wednesday, Oct. 25, 3 p.m., Building G gymnasium. This academic ceremony will feature a procession of Moraine Valley faculty and staff, delegates from other Illinois colleges and universities, speakers, music, a poetry reading and a presentation of the Presidential Medallion. A reception immediately will follow the ceremony.
Current Moraine Valley students also can engage with Haney during the Service and a Slice event on Tuesday, Oct. 24, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Building U, Room U111. Students will make cards for people battling cancer through the American Cancer Society’s Love Notes Project and enjoy pizza and conversation with the president.
