Moraine Valley Community College will include traditional face-to-face classes as part of its fall 2021 semester course offerings. Fully in-person classes will be offered in addition to hybrid, virtual and online classes, giving students multiple options for how they want to learn.

The college’s fall schedule will be available for viewing online beginning Monday, April 12. Priority registration for current students will begin Monday, April 19, and open registration for new students will start Monday, April 26. The fall semester begins Aug. 23.

“The college anticipates a safe return to traditional in-person learning for the fall semester,” said Dr. Sylvia Jenkins, college president. “Many of our students have been eagerly awaiting a return of face-to-face classes, and we’re encouraged by the guidance from state and federal health officials indicating it is safe for us to do so.”

While the college has offered classes predominantly online over the past year, it nearly doubled the number of courses taught in a hybrid format this spring. Hybrid classes feature a combination of in-person and online learning.

“With more people coming to campus this spring, we’ve been cautious and deliberate in following best practices for the health and safety of students, faculty and staff,” Jenkins said. “Our protocols have proven to be successful, and we’ll continue to keep everyone’s safety as the utmost importance as we welcome more students back to our buildings.”

All campus visitors must complete a health self-screening before coming to campus. Masks always are required inside campus buildings and distancing must be maintained. More information on the college’s protocols can be found at online.
