Get the whole family in the spirit of the season at Moraine Valley Community College’s Little Pumpkins Patch and Kid’s Dash during the 12th annual Halloween 5K run/walk on Saturday, Oct. 25, 9 a.m. on campus, 9000 W. College Parkway, Palos Hills.

Runners/walkers of the chip-timed 5K (3.1 mile) can register their children for the free Little Pumpkins Patch, an activity area open during and after the race that includes pumpkin decorating and various Halloween activities supervised by trained staff. The Kid’s Dash will start at 10:15 a.m. for children 3 to 12 years old.

All pre-registered participants will receive a T-shirt. Costumes are encouraged, and awards for individual and group costumes will be given. Prizes will be awarded to top race finishers in each age category.

Registration is $45 for community members/alumni and $35 for Moraine Valley students/employees. The Kid’s Dash is $15. Prices increase an additional $5 on race day. Anyone registering a child for the Little Pumpkins Patch must be signed up for the race.

This event is hosted by the Moraine Valley Health, Fitness & Recreation Center in conjunction with the Moraine Valley Foundation.
