Students and community members are invited to attend Moraine Valley Community College’s inaugural Adult Education Resource Fair on Thursday, July 18, noon to 3 p.m., in Building M, on the main campus, 9000 W. College Parkway, Palos Hills. The event is free and open to the public.

Hosted by the college’s Adult Basic Education Program, attendees can learn about resources on campus and within the district to help aid their education, health, career and more. Free prize drawings also will be held.

Some of the participating campus departments include the Job Resource Center, Admissions, Multicultural Student Affairs and the Intensive English Language Program. Outside community organizations include the Windy City Thunderbolts, Bridge Teen Center, Pace Suburban Bus, Arab American Family Services, Together We Cope, Aden Center and Chicago Ridge Public Library.

“We decided to host this fair because we want our Adult Basic Education students to be aware of all the fabulous community organizations and resources right here on campus available to them,” said Meg Dawczak, Moraine Valley manager of Transitions and English as a Second Language (ESL). “We want all of our High School Equivalency and ESL students to attend as well as other students and community members. We are hoping that attendees network and come away with many valuable resources.”
