Moraine Valley Community College is reinstating its summer outdoor Shakespeare Under the Stars series in July with “The Bomb-itty of Errors.” Auditions for the small cast are on Monday, June 7, 6 p.m., in the Fine and Performing Arts Center’s John and Angeline Oremus Theater, 9000 W. College Parkway in Palos Hills.

“The Bomb-itty of Errors” is an award-winning “ad-rap-tation,” hip-hop theater retelling of Shakespeare’s “The Comedy of Errors” that is part play and part rap concert. The performance will be socially distanced with four actors and a DJ/emcee. Callbacks will be Tuesday, June 8.

Actors of all races and genders are encouraged to audition. They must prepare for movement/dance and perform a rap/hip-hop song of choice as well as freestyle. Auditions, rehearsals and performances will be conducted within pandemic safety guidelines set for the college and state.

Moraine Valley students have the option to register for class credit if cast. Cage Sebastian Pierre is directing the play, which will take place on the college’s Gateway July 22 to 24, 7:30 p.m., for free.
