In its first show of the year, the Moraine Valley Community College Academic Theater Department presents the play, “BOY” from Feb. 25 to 26 and March 4 to 5, at 7:30 p.m., and Feb. 27 and March 6 at 3 p.m., in the Fine and Performing Arts Center’s (FPAC) John and Angeline Oremus Theater, 9000 W. College Parkway in Palos Hills.

Written by Anna Ziegler, “BOY” was inspired by a true story and explores the complicated terrain of finding love in a new body and the bond between a doctor and patient. In the 1960s, a well-intentioned doctor convinces parents of a male infant to raise him as a girl after a horrific accident. Twenty years later, repercussions progress. This play is presented by a special arrangement with Dramatists Play Service, Inc., New York.

Cast members include Joe Gomez, of Palos Heights, as Doug Turner; Jeannie Oakes, of Oak Lawn, as Jenny Lafferty; Gracie Polchan, of Justice, as Trudy Turner; Jack Stephens, of Palos Hills, as Dr. Wendell Barnes; and Lucy West, of Tinley Park, as Adam/Samantha Turner.
