Moraine Valley Community College is hosting its 21st season of free Shakespeare Under the Stars performances with “The Merry Wives of Windsor,” from July 17 to 19, at 7 p.m., and July 20, at 5 p.m., on the main campus, 9000 W. College Parkway, Palos Hills. The outdoor performances will be on the Gateway, between Buildings F and M.
This summer’s selection is one of the Bard’s beloved comedies about Sir John Falstaff, who attempts to fix his financial woes by seducing the wives of two wealthy merchants. Once the wives discover Falstaff’s trickery after receiving identical love letters, they take revenge by playing tricks on him. With help from their husbands and friends, the wives bring him to a forest for one final trick to end Falstaff’s mischief.
