Moraine Valley Community College provides a Nondestructive Testing (NDT) Program that provides students with the skills needed to work in this in-demand field in as little as six weeks.

NDT is the innovative method of examining an object or structure without impairing or destroying it. Industries such as aerospace, amusement parks, construction and more look to hire workers who are trained in the basics of NDT.

Moraine Valley is the only Illinois college to offer an entire basic-level NDT Program.

“We teach the basic disciplines most commonly used in NDT. Ideally, we like students to be familiar with all of them because it gives them a better chance to find jobs,” said Dr. Sal Razi, Moraine Valley NDT instructor.

Classes in this program include Liquid Penetrant (PT I and II), Magnetic Article (MT I and II), Radiation Safety, Longitudinal Ultrasonic Evaluation (UT I), Ultrasonic Testing Level 2 and Industrial Radiography Principles (RT I).

A complete list of noncredit classes can be found in the fall 2020 class schedule. Registration is ongoing and can be done online, or by calling (708) 974-2110.
