Anyone who aspires to a career serving the community should attend the Public Service Showcase at Moraine Valley Community College on Thursday, Feb. 19, from 9 a.m. to noon. The event will be in the Moraine Rooms inside Building M on campus, 9000 W. College Parkway. It is free and open to all.
Attendees will learn about Moraine Valley’s Public Service programs, which include Criminal Justice, Emergency Medical Services, Fire Academy/Fire Service Operations, Paralegal Studies, Recreation Therapy, and Sport and Recreation Management. They also can receive schedule and required class guidance as well as engage in educational panel sessions led by public service educators who will discuss career opportunities and programs and host a Q&A session.
Potential employers from public service organizations such as the Cook County Sheriff’s Police Department, Illinois State Police and other police departments; fire departments; local park districts and fitness trainers will be on-hand to discuss career and employment opportunities.
