Anyone who has dreamed of a career serving the community should attend the Public Service Career Event at Moraine Valley Community College on Thursday, Feb. 22, from 9:30 a.m. to noon, in the Moraine Rooms inside Building M, on campus, 9000 W. College Parkway. The event is free and open to all. Registration is not required.
Attendees will learn about Moraine Valley’s Career Programs, which include Criminal Justice, Fire Academy, Fitness Trainer, Paralegal, Recreation Therapy, and Sport and Recreation Management. They also can receive schedule and required class guidance, and engage in 10-minute educational panel sessions led by public service educators who will discuss career opportunities, programs and host a Q&A session.
Potential employers from public service organizations such as the Cook County Sheriff’s Police Department, Illinois State Police and other police departments; fire departments; local park districts and fitness trainers will be on-hand to discuss career and employment opportunities.
