Moraine Valley Community College is hosting a Medical Education Series presentation on “Multidisciplinary Care of Multiple Sclerosis Patients on Disease Modifying Therapies” from 7 to 8 p.m., on Wednesday, Oct. 3, in the Dorothy Menker Theater, in the Fine and Performing Arts Center, 9000 W. College Parkway, Palos Hills. The event is co-sponsored by Northwestern Memorial Hospital and is free and open to the public.

The presenter is Dr. Elena Grebenciucova, assistant professor of neurology at Northwestern University. She attended medical school at East Carolina University, completed her residency at University of Chicago Hospitals as well as a fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania prior to joining the medical staff at Northwestern Memorial Hospital. Dr. Grebenciucova has a clinical focus on multiple sclerosis and neuroimmunology.

Since 2004, Moraine Valley’s Career/Health Sciences Programs and Northwestern Memorial Hospital have collaborated on this Medical Education Series on health topics, including sports-related concussions, epilepsy, stroke and brain aneurysms, tobacco cessation, prostate cancer, fertility, cardiovascular disease, gynecological malignancies and treatments, sleep disorders, stem cell/bone marrow transplantation, immunotherapy, lung diseases, mind-body pain management, and diabetes.
