Moraine Valley Community College is hosting a Neighborhood Community Resource Fair on Tuesday, Aug. 8, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., in Building M on campus, 9000 W. College Parkway, Palos Hills.

The college is bringing together at least 18 local organizations and 11 of its own departments that are dedicated to empowering families through resources that address a variety of household challenges. Anyone can attend this event to meet with and learn about the different groups and services they offer.

Moraine Valley will provide information about its English as a Second Language classes for non-native English speakers and prep classes for those who don’t have a high school diploma but want to continue their education.

Other participating groups include: Arab American Family Services, Access to Care, Blue Island Public Library, Community and Economic Development Association of Cook County, Chicago Ridge Public Library, Crisis Center for South Suburbia, Legal Aid Chicago, NAMI Metro Suburban, Oak Lawn Public Library, Orland Park Public Library, Pace, Pathlights, Peace of Mind, Pillars Community Health, Sisters Working it Out, Together We Cope, Women Employed and more.
