The Moraine Valley Community College Academic Theater Department is holding open auditions for the play “BOY” on Monday, Jan. 24, 6 to 9 p.m., in the John and Angeline Oremus Theater, inside the Fine and Performing Arts Center, 9000 W. College Parkway in Palos Hills.
“BOY” is inspired by a true story from the 1960s, where a doctor convinces parents of a male baby to raise him as a girl after an accident. Twenty years later, the repercussions of that decision continue unfolding. This play explores someone trying to find love in a new body and the bonds between a doctor and patient. “BOY” is presented by special arrangement with Dramatists Play Service, Inc.
People of all ages, ethnicities and backgrounds are encouraged to audition. Callbacks will be Tuesday, Jan. 25. The show will run Feb. 25 to March 6.
Interested actors can sign up in advance in Building F, Room F150, or by contacting Dr. Craig Rosen at rosen@morainevalley.edu.
