The Moraine Valley Community College Academic Theater Department is holding open auditions for the play “Baby with the Bathwater” on Tuesday, Dec. 10, 6 to 10 p.m., in the Fine and Performing Arts Center, 9000 W. College Parkway in Palos Hills.

Written by the provocative and inventive Tony Award-winning playwright Christopher Durang, this play is a satiric, black comedy about two new parents with a bizarre and unconventional approach to raising their baby. Ultimately, it is a farcical exploration of the challenges of both being and raising a child.

People of all ages, ethnicities, gender identities and backgrounds are encouraged to audition. Those auditioning should prepare a monologue in the style of the show, not to exceed one minute. While not preferred, cold readings will be provided, if needed. The show will run Feb. 28 to March 9 with rehearsals adjusted based on cast schedules.

Interested actors can sign up in advance in Building F, Room F150, or by contacting Dr. Craig Rosen at rosen@morainevalley.edu.
