The Moraine Valley Foundation will hold its annual Gateways Gala on Friday, April 11, from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m., in Palos Hills, 9000 W. College Parkway. The theme for this year’s annual fundraising event is Strengthening Health Education.
The Foundation hopes to raise $100,000 to support Moraine Valley’s Health Sciences programs by funding scholarships and purchasing necessary supplies for students in the programs to successfully complete their education in an in-demand field.
“Moraine Valley has an excellent reputation for training future health care workers and we’re proud that this year’s Gateways Gala will spotlight the college’s health sciences programs. We know many students struggle with paying for things like lab kits, textbooks, stethoscopes and uniforms, so we want to help make it easier for them to focus on their studies rather than their finances,” Kalynn Duggan, special events and donor relations manager, said.
The evening will feature a live performance by the band Tony & The Tunas; a live auction for trips, dining and entertainment experiences; a silent auction featuring weekend trips, restaurant gift baskets and family fun packages; games; a photobooth and raffles. Raffle prizes include a $1,500 Southwest Airlines gift card, Chicago Cubs tickets, a R. Whittingham & Sons deluxe grill package and more. Attendees will enjoy food prepared by Country House and an open bar.
Michelle Relerford, weekday morning co-anchor for NBC 5 News Today will be the gala’s emcee.
Moraine Valley alumni can purchase tickets for a discounted price of $99. The regular ticket price is $125. To purchase event tickets and raffle tickets, and learn about available sponsorships, visit morainevalley.edu/galatickets.
