An evening of adventure and goodwill awaits guests at the annual Moraine Valley Community College Foundation Fundraising Gala Friday, April 20, at Beverly Country Club, 8700 S. Western Ave., Chicago.

The gala, which is the Foundation’s largest fundraising event, will begin at 6:30 p.m., with dinner, an open bar, live entertainment, and silent and live auctions. The evening will be a tribute to Brian Andersen, one of the founding Foundation board members, who recently passed away.

“This year we lost a very special friend and avid supporter of our Foundation. With Brian’s help, the Foundation has provided scholarships to thousands of students, supported many college programs and assisted students in need,” said Kristy McGreal, executive director of the Moraine Valley Foundation. “His desire to serve others went far beyond the Chicago area as he traveled the world helping those in need. Taking his love for travel into consideration, our event will honor his adventurous spirit.”

Activities will include a mini live auction, games with great prizes and a larger live auction. In keeping with the event’s theme, auctions will contain a number of travel packages, including a week’s stay in Cortona, Italy, recently made famous by the book/movie, “Under the Tuscan Sun,” a seven-night stay on the outskirts of Northern Johannesburg for an African safari and a week’s stay in Maui, Hawaii. The auctions also feature exquisite dining experiences with professional chefs, a brewery tour, box suite for a professional Chicago sports team, and more.

Tickets are $150 each or a table of 10 for $1,500, and can be purchased online at Raffle tickets also are available to purchase online for $15 each or $50 for four.

The Platinum event sponsor is UPS. Demonica Kemper Architects and PepsiCo are Gold Sponsors, while Legat Architects and the Personette Group of Wells Fargo Advisors are Silver Sponsors. First Midwest Bank, PMA Financial, SHI, Bridgeview Bank, and the group Rosenthal, Murphey, Coblentz, and Donahue are Supporting Sponsors.

“We count on this evening to increase our ability to provide support for students and the college. All year, we are touched by the personal stories of students and the challenges they have faced as they work toward achieving their goals, and we are proud to provide support to them and the college,” McGreal said.
