The Moraine Valley Community College Foundation is shifting its annual fundraising gala from an onsite event previously scheduled for Saturday, April 24, to a virtual 20-day gala and auction. The virtual event will run from Saturday, April 4 through Friday, April 24.

The gala, themed “Roaring Twenties,” will feature a variety of items to bid on and raffles. Register at morainevalley.edu/gala for a free virtual ticket to ensure receipt of all event updates.

“The gala is our largest fundraiser of the year, and we count on this event to provide support for students and programs for the college,” said Kristy McGreal, Foundation executive director. “Joining us online to participate in the auction, buy raffle tickets or make a donation helps us continue to provide financial support for the college.”

The Foundation is hosting a social media event at facebook.com/mvccalumni, where participants can join in on fun competitions, view virtual elements of the event, and, on April 24, view live drawings of the raffle winners. The grand prize winner will receive two round-trip domestic airline tickets. Among the runner-up prizes will be an Echo Show digital assistant and a Ring Video Door Bell Pro system. Raffle tickets, which are $15 each or four for $50, are available now at https://aesbid.com/ELP/MVF20.

Items to bid on during the 20-day auction include restaurant gift certificates, tickets for local attractions, family-friendly events and concerts, brewery tours, museum passes, trips to Mexico, dinners hosted by the Moraine Valley Culinary Arts Program, private chef dinners and more.

Helping to make the gala and all Foundation events possible are sponsors UPS, platinum; PepsiCo, DKA and Legat Architects, gold; Heide Wealth Management and KI, bronze; First Midwest Bank, supporting sponsor; and Live Right Senior Care and Tori Construction, gala sponsors.

“We look forward to connecting our community for this fun, online celebration to support students and the college,” McGreal said. “As a community, we are working together to make higher education accessible to all. I know together we will build a better decade for the students to come.”
