The Fine and Performing Arts Center at Moraine Valley Community College is hosting a Facebook Live weekly series featuring artists who have appeared on the college’s stage in recent performances. The series will be streamed live at 7 p.m., on Tuesdays, starting May 12, at Facebook.com/MVCCFPAC.
Tommy Hensel, managing director of the center, will interview artists and field questions from viewers. “There might even be a little bit of spontaneous performance, as well. It’s live, so you never know what’s going to happen,” he said.
Scheduled artists to date include:
- May 12: Mallory Lewis and Lamb Chop, daughters of Shari Lewis
- May 19: Singer/songwriter Jim Witter
- May 26: Award-winning actor, singer and dancer Ben Vereen
- June 2: Mentalist Joshua Kane
- June 9: Singer Lisa Rock
“We are doing this series to stay connected with our patrons, volunteers, staff members and friends who have not been able to come to the FPAC during the pandemic. The artists all will be joining us from their homes, and I think people will enjoy getting to know more about them as real people,” Hensel said.
The schedule is subject to change due to the availability of the artists. More artists will be added as availability permits. For up-to-date information, check the FPAC Facebook page.
