All spring semester instruction, set to resume in an online format on Monday, March 23, will continue online through the end of the spring semester, Moraine Valley Community College officials announced Wednesday, March 18.

Additionally, the college’s Palos Hills campus and extension centers in Blue Island and Tinley Park will be closed until at least April 19. All faculty and staff members are working remotely, and all student support services will be offered remotely only. Employees will be accessible by phone and email to meet student needs.

This closure includes the Health, Fitness & Recreation Center, and all on-campus events, including the college’s commencement ceremony, are canceled.

“These changes present many challenges for our employees and students, but everyone has been working cooperatively and collaboratively to help ensure the college’s operations and student learning can be successful during these unprecedented times,” said Dr. Sylvia Jenkins, college president.

Students are encouraged to routinely check their Moraine Valley email, communicate with their faculty members, and use the resources available on the college’s student portal.
