Moraine Valley Community College has received the Distinguished Budget Presentation Award from the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada.
“The award represents a significant achievement by the entity. It reflects the commitment of the governing body and staff to meeting the highest principles of government budgeting,” the association stated in its announcement of the award to the college. Moraine Valley had to satisfy nationally recognized guidelines for effective budget presentation—a policy document, a financial plan, an operational guide, and a communication device, according to the association. The documents must be rated “proficient” in all four categories and the 14 mandatory criteria in each guideline.
The Government Finance Officers Association is a nonprofit organization serving approximately 18,300 appointed and elected local, state and provincial-level government finance professionals.
