Moraine Valley Community College is joining April’s #CCMonth, a monthlong grassroots education and stigma-busting campaign coordinated by the Association of Community College Trustees. The primary goals of #CCMonth are to improve awareness of the economic, academic and equity advantages of attending community colleges, and to bust longtime stigmas wrongly associated with public two-year colleges.
Public community colleges are a uniquely American educational model that was designed to guarantee access to affordable, high-quality higher education for all people. Moraine Valley’s Board of Trustees unanimously adopted a resolution at its March 20 meeting celebrating National Community College Month in honor of the nearly 1,200 community colleges in the country and their role in offering educational opportunities.
In celebration of the month, Moraine Valley is hosting a variety of events showcasing the diversity and breadth of what the college offers the community it serves.
