Richaun Holmes talks to some young players during his camp

Moraine Valley Community College alumnus and NBA player, Richaun Holmes, hosted his basketball clinic on campus for more than 20 youths on Aug. 20.

More than 20 kids between 7 and 18 years old attended this four-hour fundamental skills camp led by Holmes. He competed for Moraine Valley during the 2011-12 season when the team earned conference and region championships, and competed at the national tournament. He also earned All-American honors. Holmes was drafted by the Philadelphia 76ers in June 2015.

“I am so proud of Richaun for honoring us with such a great visit that helped our communities’ youth. Richaun has never forgotten where he came from or who has been there for him along his journey to the NBA. It feels like he left our campus yesterday,” said Bill Finn, Moraine Valley Athletics director. “His return was magical. He ran through drills, clowned with the kids and was inspirational to everyone in attendance.”
