The Moraine Valley Community College Academic Theater Department presents its dramatic play, “Fahrenheit 451,” April 25 to 26 and May 2 to 3, at 7:30 p.m., and April 27 and May 4 at 3 p.m., in the Fine and Performing Arts Center’s (FPAC) John and Angeline Oremus Theater, 9000 W. College Parkway in Palos Hills.

Adapted from the book by Ray Bradbury, this powerful drama follows the inner struggle of Guy Montag, a civil servant living in a dystopian world. As a “fireman,” Montag lights the blazes to burn all books because they are outlawed. However, he questions his vocation and vegetable-like existence. When Montag meets 16-year-old Clarisse, who has many different ideas and thoughts, he finds himself in a dangerous and highly combustible situation. He must choose between continuing his futile existence or risking everything for the right to think.
