Supervisors who need to improve the productivity of their team could benefit from the “Delegating for Leadership Results” workshop at Moraine Valley Community College on Thursday, Oct. 1, from 7:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. The workshop will be in the Moraine Business and Conference Center, Building M, on campus, 9000 W. College Pkwy., Palos Hills. The cost to attend is $35.

Effective delegation is essential to supervision and management, but is a difficult role for many to assume. The session will help participants better understand the purpose of delegation, prepare for and apply the steps to delegating effectively and learn to recover from inevitable mistakes or disappointments.

Those who will benefit from attending have team leaders who are spending time on tasks that others could do, struggle to match people to responsibilities that will build on their strengths or development areas, or use methods for monitoring progress of the team that get in the employees’ way.

At the end of the session, supervisors will be able to identify what and to whom to delegate, hold delegates accountable for outcomes, expect positive outcomes, and confirm mutual understanding of the task, expectations, milestones, and resources.

Networking and a continental breakfast begin at 7:30 a.m., and the program begins at 8 a.m. Register for this workshop at mvccevents.eventbrite.com.
