Cool off with some hot concerts by several Academic Music ensembles in July at the Moraine Valley Community College Fine and Performing Arts Center (FPAC). Performances are free, unless otherwise noted, and will take place in the Dorothy Menker Theater on the main campus, 9000 W. College Parkway, Palos Hills.
The Moraine Valley Orchestra will play Shakespearean-inspired music prior to the performance of the Bard’s play, “Richard III,” on Saturday, July 18, 6 p.m., outside at the Gateway between the FPAC and Building M.
The Jazz Ensemble will perform a collection of swinging tunes in “Summer Sunsets and Sizzlin’ Swing!” on Thursday, July 23, 7:30 p.m.
The Moraine Chorale and Chamber Singers will present “The Best of Patriotic Music” to celebrate 250 years of the United States on Saturday, July 25, 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $15 for adults, $12 for seniors and $10 for under 18/veterans.
