A matinee show has been added for Jim Witter’s “I Write the Songs: Celebrating the Genius of Barry Manilow” Saturday, April 8, at Moraine Valley Community College, 9000 W. College Pkwy., Palos Hills.
The performance begins at 3 p.m. in the Dorothy Menker Theater located in the Fine and Performing Arts Center. Tickets are $30; $25 for students and senior citizens. The 7:30 p.m. performance is sold out.
Witter returns for a seventh visit with an all-new show paying tribute to the music of Manilow. Reminisce as Witter and his band recreate famous hits such as “Mandy,” “Can’t Smile without You” and “Copacabana;” and share with the audience some of the commercial jingles that perhaps many didn’t realize were created by Manilow, including McDonald’s “You Deserve a Break Today,” Band-Aid’s “Stuck on Band-Aid” and State Farm’s “Like a Good Neighbor.”
Tickets can be purchased online by calling (708) 974-5500, or at the Box Office located on the south end of the Fine and Performing Arts Center.
