Keeping your business and customer data secure has never been more difficult. Learn how to protect your data from a cyberattack during a free Emerging Technology Seminar from 7 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. on March 26 at Moraine Valley Community College’s main campus in Palos Hills.

Community members and small businesses are invited to join security expert Dr. John Sands for a discussion called “Emerging Trends and Concerns in Cybersecurity.” You’ll learn about recent data breaches, cyberattacks, how businesses can avoid threats, and what to do if a data breach should occur.

Sands, who is the college’s Department Chair and Professor of Computer Integrated Technologies, has over 25 years of experience in information technology management and information assurance. He will share resources available to local businesses and provide guidance on when to involve law enforcement if a data breach is suspected or identified.

Advanced registration is required. Day-of-event sign-in is from 7 a.m. to 7:30 a.m., and the hour-long presentation begins promptly at 7:30 a.m. A light breakfast will be served. The seminar is held in the Moraine Business and Conference Center, Building M.
