For the first time, Moraine Valley Community College is offering a four-week online winter session starting Monday, Dec. 16.
Students can complete accelerated online classes in this shorter session, which is formally part of the spring semester. Classes students can enroll in are: Principles of Marketing (BUS-130-300), Introduction to Criminal Justice (CRJ-101-300), Microsoft Office I (IMS-115-300), American National Government (PSC-110-302), Astronomy—Cosmos (PHS-105-300), Introduction to Psychology (PSY-101-303), General Sociology (SOC-101-306) and Introduction to Marine Biology (BIO-221), which is a travel course requiring a prerequisite General Biology I (BIO-111) class.
Many of these courses transfer to four-year schools, benefiting visiting university students over the holiday break. They also will benefit those looking to accelerate their coursework toward a degree or certificate.
Moraine Valley offers classes for students who want to transfer to four-year colleges or universities by earning associate degrees in Applied Science, Arts, Fine Arts, Science, Engineering or General Studies. Students also can choose from several certificate career programs offered at the college, including Allied Health and Nursing, Business and Computer Sciences, Industrial Technology, Automotive Technology and Public Service.
