Moraine Valley Community College is celebrating five decades of being “Rock Solid,” and the Moraine Valley Foundation is helping commemorate this milestone with the 50th Anniversary Gala on Friday, Feb. 24 at Georgio’s Banquets in Orland Park. The evening combines a fine dining experience with lively entertainment and live auction.

Community members, college supporters and alumni are invited to attend. The evening begins with a cocktail reception, hors d’oeuvres and the Moraine Valley Jazz Ensemble from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Guests can browse the vast selection of silent auction items, prepare bids for the live auction and purchase entries for prizes that will be announced throughout the event. A four-course dinner is served from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m.

This year, the Gala features its first live auction. Items to bid on include a chef’s table for two dinner at award-winning Girl and the Goat, a seven-night African safari, brewer for the day at Rock Bottom Brewery, cooking class for 15 with Certified Executive Chef Lampros Tzimas, and a United Center box suite for a Blackhawks game.

The Gala’s gold sponsors are Demonica Kemper Architects, PepsiCo and UPS. KJWW Engineering is a silver sponsor, and supporting sponsors are the Personette Group of Wells Fargo Advisors, PMA Financial, and Rosenthal, Murphey, Coblentz and Donahue.

Tickets for the Gala are $150 each or $1,500 for a table of 10. Guests can purchase tickets online at morainevalley.edu/galatickets or by calling the Foundation office at (708) 974-5480.

The Annual Gala raises funds for the Foundation’s support of student academic scholarships, cutting-edge classroom technology, student emergency assistance funding, and world-class performances at the Fine and Performing Arts Center. Supporters who are unable to attend the dinner, can still support the Foundation through an online donation at morainevalley.edu/foundation/donate-now/.
