Former “Seinfeld” writer Pat Hazell offers a fresh and funny salute to Americana in “The Wonder Bread Years” coming to Moraine Valley Community College on Saturday, Oct. 3, at 7:30 p.m. The performance will be in the Dorothy Menker Theater, in the Fine and Performing Arts Center, on campus, 9000 W. College Pkwy., Palos Hills. Tickets are $25 for the general public and $20 for seniors and students.

“The Wonder Bread Years Starring Pat Hazell” is a fast-paced, hilarious production that gracefully walks the line between standup and theater. Audiences enjoy a show that not only restores a much-needed sense of wonder, but leaves them laughing and savoring the past like never before. From sitting at the kids’ table to riding in the way back of the Country Squire Wagon, “The Wonder Bread Years” is a comic bulls-eye for Baby Boomers everywhere.

Once declared by Showtime as one of the five funniest people in America, Hazell is an original writer for “Seinfeld,” a “Tonight Show” veteran, a critically-acclaimed playwright, and a contributing commentator to National Public Radio. He is recognized for his genuinely funny Americana humor and his salute to nostalgia.

“Slice of life humor requires the same delicate recipe to achieve the proper harmony between comedy and nostalgia. We, as a community, share more in common than we have differences. We salute our common denominators. It is my hope that I am not sharing my life story, but our life story as we spend our evening together,” Hazell said.
