The Fine and Performing Arts Center (FPAC) at Moraine Valley Community College is getting a boost to its FPAC 2019 campaign thanks to a generous challenge donation by John Coleman, chair of the college’s board of trustees and a member of the Moraine Valley Foundation board.

Coleman and his wife, Pat, both longtime supporters of the FPAC, will match every dollar given to the FPAC 2019 campaign over the next five years up to $25,000.

“We are honored to support the Fine and Performing Arts Center with this matching gift,” Coleman said. “We hope our gift will encourage others to give to such a worthwhile cause.”

Critical technology upgrades are needed at the center to continue to provide professional level experience and training for students, and to continue to attract high quality entertainment, said Tommy Hensel, FPAC managing director. The technology needs include energy efficient lighting, new moving spotlights, lighting control boards, digital wireless microphones, and a digital sound system.

“The Coleman’s generosity presents the Foundation with an amazing opportunity,” said Kristy McGreal, Foundation executive director. “It’s not every day people agree to support the Fine and Performing Arts Center with a $25,000 matching gift. Now every donor who supports the FPAC 2019 campaign will know that their donation is making double the impact through this matching gift.”
